| “Free At Last TV is looking for milestone Star Wars dates and trivia from UK fans as part of an upcoming TV project celebrating the 30th anniversary of the saga. Do you know of an event, date or fact that was momentous to the galaxy far far away ? What dates, events and or facts have been or are most important/special to you in the world of Star Wars over the last 30 years as a UK fan? “ They like the idea of broad feedback and working with fans, but are a bit put off that they will just get inundated with all the normal cut and pastes from IMDB’s trivia section or the populist trivia books. What they want are personal and different things, things specific to the UK, or things that are not widely known. For example... “July 16th 1976 – this was the first day that principal photography began on Star Wars at Elstree Studios. Effectively the day Star Wars was ‘born’ in the UK.” So get your thinking caps on and let us have your dates, events and facts that have been important to the world of Star Wars here in the UK over the last 30 years - we've created a forum for your ideas here and we need to provide feedback in the next week and one of YOUR ideas may be chosen to be featured in the Sci Fi Channel Star Wars Special later in the year! | If I'm correct, I think that the UK premier of Star Wars was on December 27th 1977 in the West End, with the film being released nationwide a week later. I also seem to recall that Brighton Odeon showed all 3 episodes of the original trilogy together at one stage...can't remember when though

I can't believe the launch date of Jedi News hasn't been mentioned? We were too modest to think that it would be considered a date of such historic importance, but since you mentioned it, Jedi News was launched on 4th May 2007....

| The premiere if Star Wars A New Hope Special Edition. Can't remember the date off the top off my head but I was there in a hired dinner suit and it was a cracking night.
