| I have to agree with the sentiments of Jezza and Yamaro, this event can be such a success as the venue is one of the better that I have come across and is very nicely situated right next to the M6 making travelling to it very easy. also with Showmasters putting on a free bus service as well, it should have made for a better audience but this month is a very strange month due to the very high number of shows in such a short space of time. What with Collectormania Manchester next weekend followed by a Lost Convention then followed by Jedicon in Germany then followed by Memorabilia which is 5 shows in 5 weeks. People just cannot afford to attend every show, one of regular customers who came to the NEC last weekend also came to the Ricoh this morning and picked up his Evolutions Wave 2 figures and Wave 1 2008 figures but even he admitted he would be hard pushed to even try to get to Manchester to come and get his Wave 2 figures........ I also agree with Jezza regarding the prices available at the show.......online prices including postage and packing are no where near what bargains can be found at a show...... By the way I wonder if Dave actually got out of his Hobbit Hole !!!! If you went to the show you will know what I am talking about !!

| Firstly it was nice to have met you Jezzatheshed and put a face to the name. Also the banter between the dealers was really good and made what overall was a poor weekend an enjoyable experience. I would also like to thank the fans that did make it over the two days. One guy came from Norfolk, granted to see Jeremy Bulloch, but did end up spending a little with me and a couple of other traders (big shout to him and his wife). Another couple came from Worcester, this time to see me. So the show did pull in a few people but not really enough to make it a success. I think there are a few contributary factors to this because even though it was Mother's Day I didn't see too many mothers or people buying for their mothers, shame on you all!!! Plus, as the week before, as Nick has pointed out, there was a toy fair at the NEC, there was a toy fair in Donnington and next Sunday there is another toy fair at the Ricoh itself, also the show was reliant on it's name to advertise it as there was nothing really done locally, ITV News did cover the event but they aired their report at 6:00pm on Sunday by which time it was closed! It was a shame that more people didn't go as there were quite a few names attending, not only the usual Star Wars suspects but from other sci-fi tv/films and the guest talks was a great idea and they were sharing their experiences from their trade. From my point of view there were too many dealers, but from a buyers point, as Jez has pointed out, there was loads of choice and some great bargains to be hunted. Every time Dave's helper Mark walked past my table he was beaming from ear to ear and cradling another treasure he had found. At the end of it I finished the weekend aching but in high spirits and will be looking forward to the next Collectormania Midlands and hope that everybody else will come along and check the event out (and bring a friend!). PS Thanks for the food FRODO!!!

| It's a shame to hear that this wasn't a stellar show, it's not that far from me so I would've gone had it not been for other committments. I always think it's very tricky to advertise this kind of thing, but the organisers have issues when it comes to advertising around locations etc due to councils - but I think that'd probably be some of the most effective kind of advertising. More could definitely have been done, for a long time there wasn't even a link from the main Collectormania website!! Hey jedi_jurjo, how did you enjoy checkin out a British event?
