| I have just read the story about the ebay ban on the Boba Fett Blaster and didn't know whether to laugh or cry (or both!). I fully understand the reasoning behind the laws imposed on the sale of weapons but I think there is a grey hue over the sale of replica's. I have heard stories where replica firearms have been used in crimes and so agree that replica's should fall into this ban although I think this should be limited to replicas of real weapons and movie prop replicas should be allowed as (unless they are possibly homemade) then there is no chance of them ever being fired. This coupled with the fact that prop replicas do not always look anything like 'real' weapons then once again they should be allowed. I have heard somewhere that a mando was questioned over his weapon whilst walking around town! And after all the weapon forms part of the costume. So I say  to Ebay!

| I totally agree with you, Yamaro and I find the whole thing pretty ridiculous. My take on it is that eBay selling swords is more questionable than replica guns, since swords can be used to harm people, whilst the only person likely to be harmed is the person holding the replica gun if it is mistaken for the real thing, although I also appreciate that someone on the business end of a replica may get a bit of a scare. In this instance though, how many real weapons look like Boba Fett's blaster? I realise that is probably quite a simplistic view and I'd be interested to hear the legal view on it...

That was me, a noisey guy got the hump with us, and reported us to the police. They said it was best to leave our gun in the car. But we cant troop without guns, can you imagine a bunch of Mandalorians walking around Corrusant without weapons!!!! I dont think so. We are the meanest Guys in the galaxy not the nicest..... We aint got that rep for nothing you know...

| Ebay's current listing position has all been bought about by the Introduction of the Violent Crime Reduction Act which came into force on 1st October 2007. As such this Act seeks to control the sale, importation or manufacture of either imitation or replica firearms. This can include childrens toys etc. The Act does recommend that replica costuming weapons or toys should now be produced either transparent or bright blue, pink, purple, red, green, or yellow. As such you need to go out know and spray those Rebel Blasters bright pink to make them look unrealistic !! Nick

I can just see me painting my Mandalorian sniper rifle PINK!!!!!!!!!!!! But i think i will put some bright tape around the stock and barrell when i'm in a public place where there isnt a convention going on, a town or city maybe.
