| HI Guys! I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of 'The Art Of Ralph McQuarrie' career retrospective hardback? I've tried all the usual suspects in the UK - eBay, Forbidden Planet etc, without any luck. I know I can get it direct from the publisher in the US, but as there is postage ($70 - ouch!) and import duties to consider, I thought I'd try my hand at sourcing it locally first. Anybody have any suggestions? Or a copy the'd like to sell? Thanks! dr_Bob

| Hello Dr_Bob, welcome to the forums. Sorry, I can't help with your query, but if I hear anything I'll let you know.

| Hi Yamaro, and thanks for the welcome (must remember to introduce myself more formally at some point in the intros section on the forum). By the way, I only recently found out this book even existed (should have been reading Jedi News more, I guess!), so I actually know very little about it. Is there any one out there that can recommend it? I know it's expensive - but is it WORTH it?

| I've not got the book, but have enjoyed several other titles that McQuarrie has worked on that don't get a lot of recognition, two in particular were released about 10+ years ago, one I think is the Star Wars Universe, which features for the first time since the trilogy, Mcquarrie painting Star Wars again, with some lovely paintings of Tatooine/ Jabba Palace etc. The other is the Cantina Pop Up Book, which is all Mcquarrie artwork, but due to it's very nature won't be found in regualr art books. If you've not got those, you should be able to pick those up both in hard back relativley cheap now. Regards, Dave.

| Hiya Dr_Bob, well the official word from Dreams and Visions Press is that the book has never been released anywhere except their site so 'your only hope' is Ebay, Amazon and such ilk. Although after looking at the site and the production notes I doubt those that have bought it will give it up to lightly, it looks very cool. Mrs Y noted that it is for sale for $150 on one screen and then $125 on another so if you discuss it with them you should only pay the cheaper listed price! Happy hunting. You might have to make do with the 1996 Chronicle edition of The Art of Ralph McQuarrie Artbox. Still in hardback, with 15 postcards, 6 stamps but only 48 pages (and quite a bit smaller).

| Hiya Yamaro - where did Mrs Y find the price listed at $125? I can only see the price listed at $150 in the purchase window (which has actually just been out up from $125, which I think is VERY naughty of the publisher - as if $125 isn't expensive enough...) Still tempted, though!

We have double, double checked and can't see it either, sorry, there was a separate page that we went to that we can't seem to find. Sorry for the confusion.
