With so much Star Wars art readily available and so many amazing prints being offered at Celebration Europe - do you collect Star Wars art and if so what do you buy?

I currently own a few pieces but my art collection has, up until recently, been focused on Disney.  Disney started it all in 1928 and animation (both using original hand drawn and computer aided techniques) has always facinated me.

I hope to get a few of the prints available at CE including the 'Sgt. Lucas' print, 'McQuarrie' offerings and more...

I have a framed Ralph McQuarrie print of the Millennium Falcon in Docking Bay 94 that came with a film cell of the same scene.

I also really like Tsueno Sanda's work and nearly bought a piece of his at Celebration III, but in the end, decided to save my pennies.

I think when I've got more empty wall space, I'd like to get a few pieces to put up.  I have pre-ordered the McQuarrie Print that The Animation Art Gallery will be offering at CE and the Sgt. Lucas collage is such a unique piece that it would be good to get that...

Hi,

Yes I love the majority of Star Wars art Mr McQuarrie being at the top. Picked up a signed framed print of Luke Vs Vader in the carbon freezing chamber (with a lighted cell of the scene) a long while ago. Jumped at the chance to pre order the art of Ralph McQuarrie Really worth the £100 spent. Did anyone pick up the fantastic bookplate sketch of R2 & 3PO in the desert? That's worth a frame alone. Love the animation art gallery print of the concept characters from CE. Over the years I have picked singed posters from Drew Struzan and the Hildebrandt brothers. Non production side I love the art of Hugh Fleming who graced many issues of the Dark Horse comics. Really wanted most of the art from CE but funds would not allow

I bought a few bits from Celebration Europe - not sure of all the artists though...

Mark Hince - Celebration 1138 Bus and Modal Road (Modal Nodes crossing at Abbey Road)

Ralph McQuarrie - The Animation Art Gallery Print

Cartmundi Star Wars Cards Proof Sheets

Randy Martinez - Celebration Europe Poster (£5 version)

3 other pieces... I'll find out who the artists were...

I saw a wicked Yoda painted canvas at one of 'Threedarths' stands once and not seen it since and I really, really want it! (Please Nick).

I have a few posters and a film cell Yoda but nothing to write home about.  I haven't got any wall space as it is taken up my small collection of Ayrton Senna pictures.

I, like 'JamesB', appreciate the finer art of animation and the movies produced by Disney, especially the computer animation ones like Toy Story, Cars etc.  I am also a big fan of anime, Akira and Ghost In The Shell are my favourite ones.  I have about 200 VHS's and about 50 DVD's and still growing!

Anyway I digress, sorry.

I have a number of Star Wars Art items including all of Jerry Vanderselt pictures that he has done for Celebartion 3, 4 and Europe all with the matching number 177!! Also have a lovely Star Wars concept design print of the original Star Wars poster designed by the Hilderbrandt Brothers Gerg and Tim. This was a Star Wars Shop exclusive print and has been signed by both Brothers. I believe that Greg died about 18 months ago, so quite a nice rare item.

I also have a number of Disney Star Wars related items. But I think one of the best items I have is an original 1983 Return of the Jedi Style A Movie Poster, which came direct from Anthony Daniels own collection.
