| Guys, I wasn't suggesting that you reveal the name of the winner without their consent - just my desire to acquire the piece getting in the way of my being rational / practical I guess ! There is no legal obligation to reveal competition winners on or after the closing date of a competition - it's simply considered good practice, and avoids suggestions of impropriety. I, like others, am really suprised that the winner of the Bly bust didn't claim it. Would've been nice to know at the time though, rather than months afterwards, and only via casual enquiry. Out of interest, what other competitions didn't see prizes claimed - and do you plan to reuse those prizes for future comps (perhaps a JN 1 year Birthday Bash) or perhaps donate them to charity causes ?

| You're right...I was probably being too sensitive, mainly because we are aware of how it looks and the fact that we want to be completely upfront about such situations. I'll accept that it's been longer than it should have been, and I hold my hand up to that. I was not as proactive in following up with the winner each time, but my final email was sent in February (I think) with instructions to contact me before the end of the month or forfeit the prize. I wanted to make sure that we gave the winner plenty of opportunity to claim their prize, but I've probably been too generous. What we didn't want to happen is to draw another prize-winner and then have the first one claim it. We've already had to tell one prize winner that they were ineligible for a competition, and we're just trying to avoid creating any bad feelings.... James and I have been discussing what to do about this for a while now and had already decided that we would offer it in a future competition. We are planning something special for our first anniversary, so watch this space! As far as I am aware, all of the other prizes have been claimed, but we will endeavour to be stricter with future prize-winners so that we don't have a repeat of this situation. I hope this is received in the way it is intended!

| Thanks...we will be taking a firmer position on our competitions and the claiming of prizes moving forward. In future, we will state in the terms and conditions that prizes will be forfeited if not claimed within a set (and reasonable) period of time and we will be sure to enforce this. As if to prove how lax we've been regarding previous competitions, I have no idea who won the TVFM competition We'll find out and let you know! Where are you? You might be able to subscribe. I have seen the magazine as far afield as New York (http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=389), so there may be hope for you

| As this topic has reared it's (ugly?) head I though I would join in! Does the month of February count towards the email as received on the 2nd Feb with regards to postings/topics for forum members? If so, who won???

Yamaro (11/03/2008)
As this topic has reared it's (ugly?) head I though I would join in! Does the month of February count towards the email as received on the 2nd Feb with regards to postings/topics for forum members? If so, who won??? Yep, it has turned surprisingly Ugly. First off i'd like to say sorry Adam if my post this morning caused any offence. I did not mean it to. Secondly i've been wondering too Yamaro! i've got my fingers crossed, but I don't think i've won anything. Looking at the forum I think there's a good chance that you have though!

| No offence caused Watto; no harm, no foul as they say... Like I said earlier, we want to be upfront with everyone about what we do and we're all too aware of how it looks when winners are not announced. You've every reason to question what's going on, since you want to be happy that everything's above board; I'd probably feel the same way in your position where it wasn't clear what happens to the competition prizes. A number of you have received prizes from us in the past, so we'd hope that this would put your minds at rest in terms of our integrity, but we will make every effort to avoid a similar situation arising in the future. Is everyone cool with that? As for the forum competitions, we're still working out who's won what and it did run from February 2nd. But never fear, we will be announcing the winners very shortly.
