I saw that too Watto - pics on front page. What amazed me is that the LEGO Gunship is £79.99 and AT-TE is £99.99 - I'm pretty sure that's back to front.

My local woolworths didn't have any SW lego or clone wars products on the shelves to compare the prices.

Do you know what shops do with the store signs when they need to be taken down? I feel like asking woolies if I could have that sign when they are finished with it!

"What you think you're some kinda Jedi, waving your hand around like that?"

"I'm a Toydarian. Mind tricks don'ta work on me-only money. No money, no parts! No deal!"

A quick update on this. I was in town again today, so I called into Woolworths. There was a staff member near the Star wars sign so I thought i'd ask her about it. She said that the signs are recycled when they are taken down, but if I call back in on friday afternoon and ask to see the manager, she may allow me to have it as the sign will need to be taken down ready for saturday. So fingers crossed!

Update 2! I spoke to the manager today, she said the sign will be taken down tonight and she will put my name on the back of it, so I can collect it in the morning!

Update 3! Got it!!!!!!   Interestingly i've noticed that on the edge of the print it says 'Gondola surround, DESTROY :  Please refer to store comms'. So maybe I was lucky to get it. Woolies had in Clone wars figures, Galactic heroes and Build your own lightsaber sets.

Took a visit to Toyrus to admire the view! Great looking display. I got chatting to a staff member in a star wars tshirt. She had a few interesting things to say-

She advised that if I was buying lots of stuff, to split them up at the before paying, to get as many free Grevious's as possible!

The store displays are normally destroyed, but she thinks the clone wars display has to be returned.

There is a collector working in the store, who has a trolley full of stuff to run through the till tonight. (I wonder how many sort after figures will make it out of the stock room then!).

They have out back something she described as a AOTC beast set. (I don't follow Hasbro very closely, so i'm not sure what this was).

People are mentioning the figures have gotten expensive.

I popped along to my local TRU (Cov) yesterday (not as early as Nick!!!) and spent some of my birthday money and picked up the following few items

  • LE Lego 7681 Separatist Spider Droid
  • Clone Wars Yoda
  • Clone Wars Holographic General Grievous
  • Clone Wars The Legacy Collection Darth Vader
  • and finally the 501st Stormtrooper Vader's Fist

So at least my Clone Wars collection is off and running, just the hundreds of other products to buy!!!

Oooh, my parents also gave me a 'Jedi Training and Trials Quiz Book with Lightsaber Pen' for my birthday.  This book came out with the AOTC film and is a great little find.

“(Obi-Wan) "That boy is our last hope." (Yoda) "No, there is another."”

"(Yoda) "Yamaro his name is.""

Yamaro (27/07/2008)

So at least my Clone Wars collection is off and running, just the hundreds of other products to buy!!!

With everything coming out together, its going to be very hard on the wallet to get it all!

Did anyone else buy any new stuff? I was expecting this topic to be overflowing with posts from people telling their July 26 finds and stories!  Did no one buy anything or maybe everyone's too busy playing with their new falcon / AT-TE to post?

Hi

I bought 4 ROTJ Legacy figures at MM at TRU (all to open) and got the General for free.

I've now got four LEGO sets too (Gunship, AT-TE, V19, Magna Guards) - I gave it at our local toy shop yesterday.

I'm trying to buy the '1st Day of Issue' figures from eBay...

No Falcon or AT-TE yet... although I don't normally collect vehciles, I'll probably buy the Falcon.

Cheers

James
