| I have a question about Palpatine. How old is he? When I was a kid I thought the emperor had a wrinkled face because he was very old. Now I know this was mainly due to his duel with Mace Windu. But as he isn't a young man in EP1, he must still be quite old in ROTJ. Do force powers prolong life?

Thats somethime i've never thought of. I think he's quite old and the force has prolonged his life. Maybe 100 years old in Return of the Jedi

| Good question. I reckon he was probably in his late 40's in episode 1 so that would make him over 70 by Episode 6. Of course the dark side does have a bad affect on your skin so he may be only 21. Don't they have plastic surgery in a galaxy far far away?

| What's confusing me are these lines in ROTS. "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise.............thought not, not a story the jedi would tell you". Maybe i'm reading it wrong, but i've always thought Sidious was the apprentice who killed Plagueis. If so, if the jedi believe the sith have been dead for a millennium, how could the Jedi know of the story unless it happened over a millennium ago? This would make Palpatine very old indeed! Or is the story of Plagueis just a pack of lies to try and entice Anakin to the dark side?

| Maybe Darth Plageius the Wise was a self proclaimed title. I thought Sidious was his apprentice which begs the question, did one of them manipulate the midichlorians to create the chosen one?

hattie (06/04/2008) Maybe Darth Plageius the Wise was a self proclaimed title. I thought Sidious was his apprentice which begs the question, did one of them manipulate the midichlorians to create the chosen one?Yeah, this confuses me also. Did they create Anakin? If so, why did they not bring Anakin up as a Sith when he was a baby.
