After seeing the Star Wars FRAMES mentioned on this site last week (signed by George Lucas, no less), I decided to drop the publisher a line and find out about pricing...

_______________________________________________________________________

Hello,

We are taking pre-orders now and are shipping in February 2009.

Frames pricing is as follows:

BATCH

PRICING
BATCH A
#1 - #250
$4,000
BATCH B
#251 - #500
$4,250
BATCH C
#501 - #750
$4,500
BATCH D
#751 – #1,000
$4,750
BATCH E
#1,001 – #1,138
$5,000

Yep, those prices are in thousands. Bizarrely, the lower numbers in the run are actually the cheaper ones!

So who's going to be getting one?

That's some good digging dr_bob and worthy of the front page....

As nice as it would be to have one of these sets and assuming I don't win the lottery anytime soon (of course, that would entail me actually playing the lottery in the first place!), I think that I'm going to have to pass.

I could always re-mortgage the house, but I'm not sure that Mrs. McAdam would be too happy about that!

Maybe i'll just order a couple, one to open and one for display...............

Maybe the higher batches are more expensive because everyone will be trying to get issue 1138?

Any info on the publisher (vs Sideshow) to direct order?

Thanks.

I have received this piece of news from sideshow

This very limited and exquisite set, from Insight Editions and George Lucas, will be exclusively sold online first through SideshowCollectibles.com!

So I presume that StarWarsShop.com will also sell them but not sure of anybody else at this stage.  After following the accompanying link to this piece of information I think you will need your own boat/plane or Millenium Falcon (the BIG one!) to transport it to sunny Blighty.

Check this article out from Sideshow by clicking on the piccie below.

"(Yoda) "Yamaro his name is.""

Just noticed these are showing up for pre-order. Forbiddenplanet.co.uk have them up for £3499.99 and play.com have them for the bargain price of £4999.99.
