At least once a week I have a look at the some of the other SW community sites.  I got very confused when visiting Sandtroopers.com.  It seems that there’s a UK site called “The Private Universe”.  I hadn’t heard of before and they state that they are the first UK site to get involved in Hasbro Q&A’s.

I know the people here at Jedi News announced it straight after Celebration Europe, I even sent in a question!  Being interested, I took the link and found the site - sorry but I don’t get it.  At the top it says “Putting UK Star Wars Fans First!” but it’s not even a dedicated Star Wars community site as it has pictures of Judge Dread and a Dalek at the top and then news about Heroes, Dr Who and Incredible Hulk mixed in with Star Wars.  Is this a Star Wars site then or not?  Confused!  They aren’t even very up to date on the Star Wars news, like the Order 66 sets coming to Tesco – you posted it during your Celebration Europe coverage (and I’ve been looking for them during my weekly shop ever since) and they only got round to it a couple of days ago!

I’m sticking with Jedi News, keep up the good work.

Hmm, TPU always gets a big question mark from me. ???

It recently changed from purely a SW site to a mixed Sci-fi I believe. The rest I will let someone else fill you in.

As some of you may already be aware, both JamesB and I were previously involved in TPU.  One of the reasons we went our separate ways was because the site was branching into other areas of sci-fi and we wanted to be involved with a site that was solely dedicated to Star Wars.

After just 3 months, we've posted more than 300 news articles and have had in excess of 500 posts in our forums, and given that in our first month alone, when Jedi News received almost 3,000 unique hits, we think we were correct in our beliefs that there was a market for a dedicated Star Wars news site.

Since we launched Jedi News, we've made contact with a number of other dedicated Star Wars sites here in the UK and we're keen to work alongside them rather than in competition.  It's our opinion that the UK's online Star Wars community is big enough to accommodate each and every site, and each site's readership is not mutually exclusive of another, but that's all it is...our opinion.

Hi Adam,

Its Nick here aka Three Darths from Rebelscum.......have finally decided to post here and register as well. Was nice to be introduced finally to James B's sidekick. Glad to see the post about the news on the Garrison show too.

I hope to keep you all in touch with what items you can expect to see at your local independant retailers as soon as I get any news.

Nice site too

All the Best

Nick

Hi Nick....thanks for stopping by.  It was nice to meet you as well, although I prefer to think of James as MY sidekick

All being well, JamesB and I will be attending the garrison event at Leicester.

We'll certainly look forward to keeping abreast of what's coming up.

Glad you like the site!
