I've opened four of the new vintage style figures, and can't wait for Evolutions to take over again for our premium format figures.

Bossk and IG-88 are both well articulated, but with IG-88's design it means his articulation is still limited. Bossk is very neat and probably can be described as 'super articulated'. Both have absolutely great detailing and paint apps.

As for Han and Leia- they should be basic figures. And if I wasn't a completist (damn my compulsiveness!) I wouldn't buy her even then. Han is fine, paint off on his face but not too bad, it's just that he doesn't command the premium price. Especially since his coat limits his articulation severely. As for Leia, she recycles the poncho from TSC Endor Luke, meaning her neck is about three times as long as it should be! When we're paying that much for a figure, we really deserve a new poncho and not a giraffe disguised as Leia. The poncho is now back on and staying on!

I've saved Luke and the Snowtrooper for last, they look good carded and will hopefully help me forgive the Han and Leia.

To be honest, much as I enjoyed the initial run of these figures, I hope Hasbro do end this line and stick with Evolutions. Especially now we're onto background characters, I don't feel as compelled to pick up the figures at these prices. Maybe Hasbro have spoiled us by making the basic figures so good!

Agreed... the Evolutions should be a nice break from the Vintage line.  I guess depending on how successful the Evolutions line is it may stay around for a while.  Only time will tell!!!

I agree too. I've started taking alot of my figures out of the packet's,so paying £10.00 for a figure kinda sucks. And if they heat seal the case, you can't even reuse it for something else.
The Evolutions look really good. Can't wait for these.

I have got to agree for the most part, I thought this year we would see something special in the vintage line. Personally i think Hasbro have missed a trick, when they put coins with the basic line ( and articulation is now on a par with the vintage line)and not with a higher end line (one that is historic and at one point had coins, to me a no brainer they have their reason no doubt)  It doesnt show that much forsight when we get the best of the original POTF line figures Luke Jedi Endor a redo, Han Carbonite new figure and Imperial gunner also a new figure less than 12 months before the line is announced C'mon hasbro outside the box please. I mean Yak face new tooling with an updated coin how cool would that be?

That said I have all the past vintage and will get these (yet to see them all up close) and i willl be sending for the coins

Worrying thought about Evolutions and Vintage line (cannot wait for them however) if they are so exclusive why then do figures from both appear in other sets.batlle packs, basic collections and so on ?

Wow! Glad to see this issue is less divise than I thought! I certainly agree it was silly not to do TPOTF cradbacks with coins this year. I also think that to go from George Lucas as Stormtrooper to coins as a mail away is a pretty poor trade-off. Since Hasbro allegedly have so many of those figures left, I think this year we should all get one as well as our coins!!

As for the exclusivity of these figures, I don't mind as much Evolutions since they were only really re-packed in the tins sets (which were crazily expensive themselves). I mind more with the vintage style figures since it's getting worse- those images Jedi Defender scored showed that both Battle Packs included multiple vintage style figures. That means in just a year a figure goes from being worth a tenner alone to twenty pounds with four other figures!

I am really surprised about how Hasbro has embraced the EU in Evolutions, maybe as a result of how successful the Comic Packs are? Personally I'm really pleased, but I feel Hasbro need to be careful about actually putting off non-EU collectors from buying this line.

The Evolutions will be great!  There may even be a second wave next year too!

I think people are really split on the VOTC coins against the Lucas Stormtrooper.  Also, the price point is an issue when we're getting the same quality figures on a single card and sometimes with a big accessory for £4 less!
